Race Introduction
The Hong Kong SUP Championship 2026 is the final leg of this year’s points series, organized by the Hong Kong, China Surf and Standup Paddle Association and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the HKSAR Government, held at Sha Ha, Sai Kung. Six titles are decided over a single day, and it is the last chance to score toward the year-end standings.
The Association’s official points for 2026 are accumulated across four core events: the Technical Race, the Sprint Race, the Long Distance Race and the Championship. The four events carry equal points weighting; the Championship’s distinction is that it decides a tie: if paddlers finish level on points in the year-end standings, the Championship result determines the final ranking. The top three in the overall standings take the annual Overall Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up honours, presented after the final race of the year.
Paddlers of all levels are welcome. Three age categories run separately for men and women, making six titles in all:
- Open: no age restriction, for those contesting the highest honours;
- Adult: aged 35 or above, a platform to test skill and endurance against the same age group;
- Youth: aged 8 to 17, for young paddlers building formal race experience.
The race is held on Sunday, 27 September 2026 at Sha Ha, Sai Kung. Entry is $200 per person; registration is open now and closes on 15 September 2026. Competitors must bring their own equipment (board length 14 feet or below, hard or inflatable), as the Association does not provide rental.
Every finisher receives:
- a race jersey;
- a finisher medal;
- official annual points by finishing position, counting toward the Association’s year-end standings.
