(Subvented by LCSD) Youth Summer SUP Training Program

The Hong Kong, China Surfing and Stand Up Paddle Association is pleased to launch the “Youth Summer SUP Training Program,” subsidized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), for youths aged 8 – 18. This program aims to rapidly advance participants from basic knowledge to proficient application in a short period.

Core Course Objectives
This program is specifically designed for participants who wish to significantly improve their skills. The curriculum covers a range of practical and advanced techniques, including but not limited to:

  • Speed Enhancement Strategies: Master the key principles to increase your paddling speed.
  • Paddling Efficiency Optimization: Learn how to use your energy more efficiently to handle longer distances.
  • Advanced Turning Techniques: Including agile maneuvers like the “Pivot Turn.”
  • Handling Adverse Conditions: Build the confidence and ability to maintain stability and control in wind and waves.
  • Water Safety & Traffic Awareness: Learn to observe and navigate marine traffic to ensure a safe journey.

Achievement & Certification

  • Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded e-certificates issued by our association (a Beginner SUP Certificate and an Intermediate Bronze SUP Certificate). These credentials serve as a professional testament to your skill level and lay a solid foundation for future participation in advanced activities and competitions.
  • This subsidized program offers a rare opportunity for youths to receive professional, systematic training at a highly affordable price.
  • As spots are limited, interested youths and parents are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment. (Each participant can only enroll in one session).

Participant Age: 8 – 18 years old

Location: Blue Sky Sports Club – G/F, 16 Kei Ling Ha San Wai
Registration Deadline: 7 days before each session
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Please arrive 15 minutes early)
Available Dates:

  • July: 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31
  • August: 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28
  • September: 6, 7, 13, 14

Important Notes:

  • Each participant may only register for one session.
  • The course includes a one-hour lunch break. Participants must bring their own lunch.
  • No parking is available at the venue. Please use public transportation.
  • Upon completion, participants will receive e-certificates issued by our association (Beginner & Intermediate Bronze SUP Certificates).

Remarks:

  • Equipment provided by the Association.
  • Participants must wear suitable water sports clothing and shoes covering their feet.
  • If you have not received any notice 7 days before the start of the class, you can call the Association for inquiries or browse the Association’s website.
  • If the number of applicants in a class is less than half of the quota, the class will be cancelled and the association will arrange for students to change classes.
  • After the deadline for registration, no class changes are allowed (Except for class cancellation).
  • HKSURFSUP reserves the right of final decision.

Min people: 4

  • If there are less than 4 people, we might arrange for you to join another group. Program might be cancelled if there are less than 4 people joined
  • Coach & Student ratio at 1:4

Booking:

  • Your booking is NOT confirmed until you have received our confirmation email.
  • Please provide your Booking ID# to the coach when you arrive.

What do I need to bring?

  • You are suggested to bring water, water shoes (cover heel and toes), sunglasses (with a floating belt) and a hat. Please put on sunscreen and insect repellent before the event. You may need dry clothes for changing after the event.
  • Please wear water shoes / sports shoes for the event. Flip flops are NOT recommended.
  • To start the event on time, please kindly change your clothes and settle your personal belongings in advance.
